Book Arts for the Young Explorer

The projects in this booklet are invitations to carefully observe your surroundings with all five senses (i.e. draw a map of smells as you walk around your house). Many scientists, as well as artists, make what are called “field notes” to document their observations. This project takes that one step further by experimenting with other ways of collecting “data” through experiemental, 3-d book arts.

Most importantly, there is no right or wrong way to observe something! If you like to draw, write, or use your imagination, these books can be containers for those artworks.
